The daily farm ..

Our girls provide some of the best tasting eggs. Some of the eggs look like something from a duck. They've taken to laying them in the far barn, underneath the bench area where Milk Chocolate (Nigerian Dwarf Grandma - retired) likes to lay. Now it is a daily march out to search for eggs, so glad they cannot get to the hay stores, imagine all the treats I might find 3-4 months down the road.

Sunshine seems to be the order of the day today, 45º and quite blowy, the blowy part really sort of negates any effect the sun is having. But it looks pretty.

Company coming over this afternoon, giving a sort of impromptu class on the art of bread baking. Over the passed 3 days I have created the chef, which is now recreating itself into the "levain" today. This process takes 3 days as the chef, and another 8-10 hours for the levain to ripen, so by 230 or so we will be ready to knead like a &*@(@_!_! and then final rise, then bake .. .

In the meantime we will prep the oven by making home made Pizza! Yes, farmers love pizza!

chickens, breads, the daily farm, foxdogfarm
