Yesterday (Father's Day), my parents, my grandparents, Mikey, Johnny, and I all went to Madeline Island. We took the ferry and all that crap, and I got sunburned for the first time this summer (since my skin hardly sees daylight because I'm studying/doing homework all the time). Then, when we got there we rented mopeds. It was awesomely, hilariously fun! Grammy had NEVER been on a moped before, but by the end, she looked like a pro. We moped-ed all over the paved roads of the island for an hour and a half. We quit because Grammy had to go to the bathroom, and it didn't sound like a bad idea to me and Johnny, either. Since there are very few public bathrooms there, we ended up going to Tom's Burned Down Cafe, where I got walked in on by some hippy just as I was unzipping my shorts. I thought I locked the door, but I must not have done it well enough, as she burst in just moments after I walked away from it. She waited for a minute by the door before looking at me and asking, "Is this cool?" I must have had a weird look on my face because she went, "Oh, sorry - you didn't go yet, did you?" and left quickly. It was very strange. So I re-locked the door and proceeded to pee in peace while reading all the crazy signs about how awesome women are, how much men suck, and vaginas. After leaving Tom's Burned Down Cafe, we wandered aimlessly for about 45 minutes. We then boarded a ferry, and rode back to the mainland. The end.
But not the end of the entry.
Last week at clinicals just sucked - completely. But, I don't really want to talk about it because it'll just piss me off all over again. This week I have two 12-hour clinicals, and I am DONE. For now. But they're going to be boring. Oh well, better than being on the floor and dealing with what I dealt with last week.
Tomorrow is my last day of actual class for the summer. We have a test on 4 chapters (which I am completely procrastinating on studying for) and then we're done, since we finished all of the review videos today. Then, next week Tuesday I take the HESI test. It's like the PSAT before the SAT, except for nursing. And instead of taking the SAT afterwards, I'll be taking the NCLEX. And then...
I graduate on Wednesday at 11:00 as an LPN!!!
I can't wait to actually enjoy some of the summer...even though I'll be studying hardcore for the NCLEX...
