She'd had this set up for weeks. Moon was always a fan of the whole 'romantic dinner' thing, so Remy had been planning one for his birthday since last month. Maybe it was a bit obsessive, but she wanted the whole thing to run smoothly. And there were a lot of things to consider; she had to make sure Atthis didn't schedule her for tonight, and that Chloe would be out of the house for most of the evening. She'd started planning what she'd cook, and even bought a lot of the ingredients before he'd told her he was going back to Mongolia.
Now she had the whole evening free, a big empty house, and all the components of a fancy, candle-lit dinner. But no boyfriend here to celebrate with her. She'd called him earlier, but... It just wasn't the same.
There was nothing to do but have a pity party for herself. As far as Remy was concerned, she had every right to be upset and miss Moon. And his birthday was as good a time as any to wallow in it for a while.
So she cooked the food, set the table, lit the candles, and had a rather pathetic, lonely dinner all by herself, before cuddling up with a pillow and blankets on the couch, watching one of his favorite movies and pretending she was only crying like a baby because the horse finally found its way home.
At least she'd had a chance to give him his present before he left. But other than that, everything about today just sucked.
