So....Crazy month. Finals, projects, papers, work, the play, and no blogging. Kind of forgot this was here, actually.
Oh, well. Finals are over, papers are in, the play was great (You were amazing, Jo!) and now I can blog again.
Big surprise, my mum isn't exactly on board with my plans for Christmas. I'm pretty sure I can fix that, though. This is only Phase One of Operation: Convince Mum to Let me Go.
She sees through almost all of my Phase One plans. Especially when it's a plan I've used before, like burying the important bit in other, random facts. Then it's not just understanding my move, it's turning it right back against me.
So, when I e-mail "It's getting really cold here, and I'm thinking of getting Kimmy to help me make an Island-style Chrismas tree. I'm gonna spend Christmas in New York with Moon, and Hudson keeps freaking out when it snows, barking at snowflakes and trying to chase them out of the yard."
She says back "I'll bet you're glad you made that big coat. Do they have Century Plants in Liberty? Over my dead body, and send us pictures of your goofy dog. That sounds adorable."
She's funny. I'd be more upset if her 'no' actually meant I couldn't go, but I've realized that from as far away as she is, her opinion on what I do doesn't carry too much weight. Even if I don't convince her, she can't actually stop me. All she can do is yell. which, admittedly, is pretty scary, but I've had a lot more practice dealing with intimidating women lately, so I'm pretty sure I can handle her.
Oh, by the way Miss Atthis, I had a really cool idea about the store earlier, and I'd love to talk about it with you when you have a minute.
