hey hey peeps, time for another update..
this week at work's been alright, some days were hard (Mrs Smith came in so we didn't get to leave at the normal time of 3pm, and she scared everyone with her draconian ways, lol!) but others were also fun like THURSDAY when everyone got their A and AS- level results! i was the official school photographer so went around snapping away on mr stone's camera, lol! it was nice to spend the day more with 6th form as there hasn't been much interesting to do in the office lately. oooh, had to do some more binding, and moira said, why not use the electric binder (cos the parlour was inaccessable and that's where the binder was) -- my jaw dropped and i was like.. THERE'S AN ELECTRIC ONE?! yeah it was sooo easy and fun compared to the hard labour required from the other one! hehe.
anyway on to this weekend - i went on an adventure holiday! to nottingham! by myself! :O
well, kinda, yesterday i met sarah in nottingham and we met Daian and her friend Tony at the station! it was good to see her again after so many months! we put our bags in a locker and then daian took us to a buffet which was sooo delicious - tender chicken and a big variety too!! well impressive! after we were all stuffed (daian and i ate the most, Tony hardly ate a thing lol!) we walked through town and got the bus to nottingham uni! it was quite nice, we walked a lot, around the lake and stuff like that, was pretty quiet in parts but there was a funfair near the lake so lots of families were there! oh and the grass was nice and springy, at one point we had a lil rest on it!
after walking around the uni we went to Wollaton park which was nearby - they have deer there! (we saw one) - walked around some more to like a museum on the top of a hill but it was closed, ah well! all the exercise made me feel better for eating so much lately ;)
after that we got on the bus (some kids at the back shouting 'ni hao!' lol) and went back into town. said bye to Tony and then daian, sarah and i got on a TRAM! it was like being on continental Europe (i think they have trams there..) - we went 2 stops and got off at Nottingham Trent uni - was all closed etc. so we went back to get our bags from the locker.
it was about 6.30 by now, and sarah and i were going to the young people's meeting at Su's place, stay the night there, and have Lord's table with the church in Nottingham today - which is what we did! on the bus there was a rly friendly girl who lived on the same road as su so she told us where to get off etc and told us to follow her, bless! it was rly easy to get to Su's, so cool to see her again yay!!!
the young people's meeting was rly cool, lots of singing - there were 11 of us young ppl there: joseph, paul, james, su, sophie, danielle, saskia(?), gareth, joyce (good to see her! she's just moved bk there from cambridge), sarah and i! sister maureen was leading, gareth has a 12-string guitar which was sooo cool (i played on a 12-string guitar, woo!). we had a break after all the singing, ate foodage before the next part of the yp meeting, we were reading The Economy of God. (just had a thought sarah, we should tell them it comes free with the Rhema pack, like the 2nd coupon).
peeps left at about 10.30 i think, not sure - we had a hot drink and messed about a bit before going to bed! sarah and i slept on camp beds in their living room, as there was a family staying with the Breens this week since they are moving back to Taiwan soon so they had the guest room.
i didn't rly sleep a lot, but didn't feel tired for some reason when i woke up at like 6! (approximation.. i lay there for ages). Lord's table this morning was really sweet - because the church there is quite small it's in Su's home - but they have been growing in numbers! i was so encouraged to see so many people! and it was so nice to see a sister who used to meet at district 2 with us before she moved to nottingham - i forgot her name, something ghanian! and she's sister to paul and joseph, oh and she has a lil 6-week old baby called Timothy!!! cute!!!
so the meeting today was the normal singing and breaking of bread but the next part of the meeting was different, because a brother from district 3 came to talk about Bower House and the Lord's move in the UK cos there's lots happening!! so we just went through a lil bit of the outline - main points were that salvation is not *just* about Christ dying on the cross to redeem us back to God - Romans 10:5 and 10:17 clearly tell us there is MUCH MORE to it - that we continually need to be saved through the LIFE of Christ just by receiving the 'abundance of grace' and the 'gift of righteousness' (v.17).
so afterwards there was a big love feast (i.e. everyone brought foodage and ate!) but sadly sarah and i couldn't stay - Daian was cooking lunch for us! (did have a couple bits of garlic bread though, couldn't resist!) said bye to the saints and got on the bus into town with sarah at 1.15.
we waited about 15 mins for daian and when she came, we walked to her place which wasn't too far away, about a 15-20 min walk from the centre. she cooked a lot of stuff for us, like woah! hopefully she can teach me some of that in our flat, wooo that would be a big achievement! ;)
we left daian's at 3.45 and walked to the Trent River (2 mins from her house) but sarah was worried about missing her train so we went to the station and made it in good time, she got on her train then i got on mine and bye bye nottingham!!! :'( i had such a fab weekend, felt like i was on holiday yet when i was with the saints i felt like i was just at home!
4 hrs total travelling time (on the way back 2 hrs on the train and then ages back to FG, grr) - it's nice to be home now! mum wants to go online so i'll end there, niiiiiiiight all!
