Thanks! It's one of the first ones I actually made MYSELF using a free software called GIMP. I was very proud of myself, hee. :D (Here's another one I made. I'm still ironing the kinks out, but it's great knowing that I can do something new ...)
AU is fun but when deep down you know your favorite is gone, it's gotta be pretty hard to commit.
I hear ya. I feel the same way.
I don't know how Sirius fans manage it. (Although most Sirus-related fiction I've read isn't AU, apart from the Stealing Harry series by sam_storyteller.)
You know, I've only read ONE fic by Sam and I adored it. He's on my list big time, because I need to read Stealing Harry and Cartographer's Craft. EVERYONE talks about those.

You know, when it comes down to it, the canon world is just the framework. The writing is something else entirely. You could probably get away with quite a bit, because the main focus of the story is the plot and characterization, right? But I understand your feelings. I was TERRIFIED (no lie!) when I posted my first chapters on www.fanfiction.net 2.5 years ago. Thank goodness ladybracknell was my first reviewer. :)
