Remus started to protest when he felt himself being tugged away from the group as they made their way down the brightly-lit street in Muggle London, but the hand that clamped firmly over his mouth muffled his voice and nobody noticed that two members of the party had suddenly disappeared as they passed the church.

"Sirius, what are you doing?" he asked once he was free to speak, even though it was pretty clear what Sirius was doing; sharp bites at Remus' throat and wandering hands under his shirt left very little question.

"You," Sirius replied with a lascivious grin.

"This is a church..." Remus' dissent wound up sounding far more half-hearted than he had intended. This was not the place for this but he didn't like the idea of stopping, either.

"So what?" Sirius asked between nibbles, obviously aware that Remus wasn't really going to make him stop. "You don't believe in God. You can't be afraid of divine retribution."

"No," Remus admitted, "but people could catch us..."

Sirius didn't seem to have an answer for that at first but then Remus was being pulled even farther into the building. The door to the confessional clicked shut behind them, leaving them pressed against each other in the too-small space. "Better, Moony?"

It was still a church but at least they had a modicum of privacy here, Remus reckoned. "...Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned," he murmured with a weak laugh, finally giving in completely.

"Hold that thought." Remus couldn't see Sirius' face in the darkness but the mischief in his voice made it easy to imagine. "We'll make it a sin worth confessing."
