I was perhaps twenty-three or so, working at a small privately-owned book shop. The owner and his wife lived above the shop. One day he was out and not expected back for hours. Unfortunately, he came back early and discovered me in the back room with his wife. This led to my ability to bold 123 and 147.

Frankly, she wasn't especially good-looking or anything. I mean, she wasn't ugly, either... She just wasn't the sort of woman who'd attract your attention, positive or negative, if you were to pass her on the street. But she was there, she was interested, and I was twenty-three and unhappy. So there it was.
