so dear friends,

tomorrow i embark upon a journey long overdue. i will be transported via air to my home state of Indiana where i can rediscover my roots and re-establish a repoire with extended family. the Stouders' on my mothers side have organized a reunion (the frequency of such reunions seems to me to be every decade or whenever an elderly family member might be nearing the end, as my dear great-grandmother Leta Stouder may very well be nearing hers.) thus, in order to have a legitimate account of these travels for my own personal recollection and for your entertainment i will be chronologically updating my blog here with updates and entries. some of the entries may include a summary of expenses, time elapsed at certain ports of call, and other frivolous details such as numbers of cigarettes smoked, number of alcoholic beverages imbibed, etc.

my mother, myself, and my younger sister whitley will all be travelling together. our itenerary has us leaving wednesday july 16th the year of our lord two thousand and eight and returning the following monday july 21st. to pass the slowly rolling time between now and when we depart tomorrow, and also in order to confirm packing efficiency i shall produce a manifest of the items i will be travelling with:
