Andromeda pushed the blue cotton curtain aside, so she could look out the window. Outside business was as usually not a single thing to be worrying about. Maybe the order had just heard some bad information. It could happen after all, it wouldn’t be the first time. Besides the information didn’t even say her directly, everyone just jump to conclusions. Again.
Bellatrix was going to be attacking a female who had connections to the order; Andromeda would need several hands to count all the possibilities. However, since Bellatrix was the culprit Ted was concern for her safety not to mention the rest of the order. Still shouldn’t the order be hiding the rest of the women and not just her?
Ted and a couple other members of the order had placed some protection around the house to protect her. Andromeda doubt it would do much, Bellatrix didn’t just have a pretty face she was also quite clever, she would find a way in.
So when she heard some of the protection spells go off, she didn’t panic, she just straighten her blue robes and made no movement to stop Bellatrix from entering the house.
Bellatrix pushed the door opened and walked in her boots making loud noises. Not that she expected Bellatrix to wear heels, that always had been more of Narcissa thing, unless absolutely necessary.
“Hello Bellatrix,” Andromeda greeted once Bellatrix entered the living room.
“Hello dear sister of mine,” Bellatrix replied. “Waiting for my visit?”
Andromeda turned and looked at Bellatrix. Her older sister was dress in black robes; her dark hair was shining in the sunlight as her eyes sparkled with delight. “Well I thought you might want to be welcome to my house.”
Bellatrix smirked. “So you’re the greeting party then?”
Andromeda smiled. “Do I have much of a choice?”
Bellatrix snorted. “Of course not.”
Andromeda didn’t response but she turned back to the window, completely ignoring her sister. “You know I didn’t destroy you’re front lawn that much,” Bellatrix pointed out.
“I see you managed to make it through all the protection spells unharmed,” Andromeda said casually.
“Did you expect any less of me?” Bellatrix asked.
Andromeda blinked, at Bellatrix’s sudden movement now that her sister was standing next to her. Bellatrix just smirked when Andromeda looked at her and when Andromeda attempted to leave; Bellatrix placed her hand around her younger sister’s wrist.
It was a warning.
After all, in Bellatrix other hand was her wand ready to defend herself or attack. “Let’s just get straight through it shall we? We both know I’m not here on a social call.”
“Well that much was evident,” Andromeda muttered eyeing Bellatrix’s wand.
Bellatrix noticed. “Scared?”
Andromeda looked at her older sister. “Perhaps. After all, I’ve heard quite a few things about how reckless you are. I wouldn’t be surprise if you pulled the wand on me.”
Bellatrix raised an eyebrow. “Raise my wand on you? My sister? My own flesh and blood?”
“Your own flesh and blood?” Andromeda questioned. “I thought I was the traitorous bitch.”
Bellatrix made a slight tsking noise. “I was still rather upset with you the last time I saw you, especially since you’re mud blood husband was with you. Have to keep up appearances after all.”
Andromeda scowled. “Refrain from calling my husband that name.”
Bellatrix smirked. “Why it’s the truth and you know it.”
Andromeda curled one of her hands into a fist. “That name is tactless and not the proper term.”
Bellatrix rolled her eyes. “Oh you mean, ‘muggle-born’ the name that just sounds nice but means the same thing.”
“So are you just here to insult my family or do you have a reason for actually being here,” Andromeda demanded.
Bellatrix just smiled. “Do I need a reason to visit my sister?”
“The sister you wanted nothing to do with?” Andromeda pointed out.
Bellatrix let go of Andromeda’s wrist and waved her hand about casually. “That’s all in the past now.”
Andromeda look perplexed. “All in the past? Somehow I don’t think so.”
“Didn’t you used to say ‘don’t dwell on the past’?” Bellatrix asked grinning.
Andromeda bit her lower lip. “That’s true.”
“You wouldn’t want to become a hypocrite sister,” Bellatrix replied.
Andromeda didn’t reply but Bellatrix knew she had won. “Besides, since when do I need an excuse to visit my favorite sister?”
“I’m not you’re favorite sister,” Andromeda couldn’t help but point out.
“How would you know? Do you read minds?” She cheekily asked.
Bellatrix shakes her head. “You shouldn’t make such assumptions, you never know when they might come back to bite you in the behind.”
Andromeda shakes her head. “So I guess my assumption that Narcissa is your favorite is wrong then.”
“Of course,” Bellatrix replied smoothly. “After all, Narcissa and I never shared a bed like you and I did.”
Andromeda blushes. “That was a long time Bellatrix, things are much different now.”
Bellatrix smiles. “Are they?” She starts to back Andromeda in a corner. “Seems like old times to me.”
Andromeda does her best to block out the last thing that Bellatrix just said to her because it is like old times. Old times, where Bellatrix would back Andromeda into a corner it was like a friendly game of cat and mouse. A game which had been enjoyed at one time by both parties.
Bellatrix is playing with a piece of Andromeda’s hair that has fallen out of its braid and she yanks on the elastic so it falls out. “I like it down,” Bellatrix states as if it explains the situation.
Andromeda knows that Ted likes it in the braid, so she wisely doesn’t say why it was in the braid to begin with.
It has been many years since Bellatrix has been in her presence never minded kissing her. To say the kiss is a little awkward is an understatement but after a few moments Andromeda returns the kiss because it’s the proper thing to do.
For once, her thoughts were not on her husband but on her dark haired sister who was technically her first lover she had ever had. Andromeda often wondered if mother knew, her mother had always given their relationship the blind eye. Almost like she didn’t mind, she probably didn’t. As long as they kept it in the family, it didn’t really affect the family.
When Andromeda starting seeing Ted she always had a feeling that it would put a strain on her family. She had a blissful six months before mother found out about her relationship with Ted Tonks. She had been less than pleased.
Something snapped in Andromeda’s mind and she pushed her sister away. “Why are you really here?”
Bellatrix stared at Andromeda’s rosy swollen lips. “I had orders.”
Andromeda felt her heart break in many small pieces. She had always love Bellatrix the most. “Why?”
“You have extremely strong six sense it rivals a seer’s six sense,” Bellatrix began. “My master was afraid that you might be able to see what we really had planned, I was sent to distract you.”
Andromeda stared at her sister before collapsing on the couch. “Did you ever love me, I wonder?”
“I always loved you,” Bellatrix replied.
“Not the way you used to,” Andromeda managed to get out.
Bellatrix eyes flared with anger. “You ended that yourself.”
Andromeda shakes her head. “That’s not the true.”
“You chose you’re darling husband over me!” Bellatrix screams.
Andromeda can feel tears at the corner of her eyes. “It was never a competition.”
Bellatrix sneers. “Yes it was. He knew about our relationship, I’m sure of it!”
Andromeda stares at her sister. “Ted didn’t know anything about us, I never told him.”
It didn’t seem to matter what she said, it wasn’t getting through to Bellatrix. Bellatrix had always been a passionate person but this was a little much.
Andromeda couldn’t believe what Bellatrix was saying. She had heard members of the order comment that Bellatrix was insane, she didn’t want to believe it.
Desire beyond love, anguish beyond insanity, wasn’t that what Narcissa said to her before she left the house.
Andromeda had brushed her off but not once did she concern herself with how Bellatrix felt about her leaving home.
“You left and he believes that he has won but he hasn’t,” Bellatrix explained.
“Bella?” Andromeda asked.
Bellatrix walked over to her younger sister. “You know I wanted to be with you forever.”
Andromeda stares. “Mother never would have allowed it.”
Bellatrix smiles. “Maybe not but we could run away together, you used to say that to me all the time.”
“I was twelve,” Andromeda pointed out.
“When you did run away it wasn’t with me but with someone else,” Bellatrix said slowly.
“You were upset?”
Bellatrix laughed. “That’s one way of putting it.”
Andromeda looked at Bellatrix almost judging her expression, she chose her words carefully. “What are you going to do now?”
“Do now?”
Andromeda nods. “Yes, do now. I know of your plans, I can stop your master if I wanted to.”
Bellatrix laughs. “Do you really think you can?”
Andromeda blushes slightly. “Well I could.”
Bellatrix lazily weaves her hands through Andromeda’s hair. “But you won’t.”
“I won’t?” Andromeda asks.
Bellatrix nods. “Yes, you won’t because that will make me angry and you don’t want to see me angry. Now do you?”
Andromeda doesn’t say anything and Bellatrix takes it as an agreement.
Heavy footsteps are heard through the front lawn and Andromeda knows who they are and so does Bellatrix.
Bellatrix stands suddenly and startles her younger sister. “You’re husband will be home soon. Don’t tell him I’ve been here and I’ll see you soon.”
Andromeda nods slowly and blinks when Bellatrix kisses her. “See you soon Meda.”
