Written for 30_gens prompt #19 'Time Spent Apart'.
When he left their tiny house, he had been framed in the doorway. She watched him leave, not saying anything. She didn't think there was anything she could say to change his mind.
She sat by the window; the same window she had watch him leave by. Hoping by some chance, he would return.
She knew it was a lost cause. He wouldn't return until he finished what he set out to do.
Months and seasons passed, and still he never came back.
Even when the dreaded plague finally defeated her, he never came.
