genderswitch [for Gene]

He's slept through it this time, the point where whatever powers the island changed his body, or took him out of it, or whatever it does to people.  Maybe the shock of it isn't so bad the second time around, maybe he was just too deeply asleep to notice.

He.  Not the best word for it when he wakes up, but that's still how he feels, even with the hair falling around his face, with the fucking breasts he finds, pulling at his top and looking down the front.  It's not quite the same as last time, still in his bed with his boyfriend, still missing a leg, still covered in familiar scars, but it's similar enough that he's more embarrassed than upset, after the initial shock of waking up with a new body wears off.

At least he knows it won't last, this time around.

Nudging Gene's shoulder with a hand that's entirely too delicate for him to look at while he uses it, he gathers the blanket up against his chest with the other, as if the barrier can soften the blow of the wholly obvious news he's about to impart, just by waking him up.  "Gene," and the voice is just as strange, lighter and smoother, but somehow still sounding like him, the tone, the inflections.  He trails off, not really sure what he's supposed to say when Gene wakes up.
