I am, at present, finishing my thesis for Fourth-year Physics. I don't care about it as much as I cared about last year's thesis; that one got rounds and rounds of applause especially among faculty members. It involved different concentrations of formalin, extensive analysis of formalin composition, and a ton of research on preserving agents and natural buffers... but then again I always thought high school chemistry so much easier--and more fun--than high school physics.
Now, university-level, Stephen Hawking-type physics... is a completely different story. I read books for that level of physics just because they're interesting.
Anyway. This year, my physics thesis is a very simple foray into the world of electroculture. What do you know, exposing mung seeds to an electromagnetic field really does speed up their germination rates. It's not surprising, and neither is it very interesting, at least for me.
I wasn't allowed to do anything related to astrophysics, and forget about me doing anything about space-time relations; doing that would involve explaining everything to the oral defence panel, and that's just not something I'm up for. It's not my fault that they think the end-all and be-all of physics is simple mechanics and electric circuits. Besides, my defence would fare better if I were to present clear-cut, tabulated data rather than theoretical analyses. So, instead of focusing on space time, I am instead presenting tables and tables of uninteresting data on radicle and leaf lengths. Ugh.
Easy... but boring.
