In 2000, I bought a 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis for $1000.
As of today, I found that the heater core is shot, as well as the transmission, oil pan, and sensors. The cost of repairing the car would be multiple times what I paid for it.
Therefore, it's time to put the car down like an ailing horse, and send it off to the glue factory in the sky.
I'll probably donate it to charity. It'll probably end up making me owe nothing in taxes, from what I hear. I don't make enough to have a huge tax bracket.
