...I just had the most epically vivid vision of Misha in a makeshift tentacle costume flailing around saying shit like "be in awe of me, I am the TENTACLE waaaaaah" and it should tell you how bad of a day I've had that I instantly crack up and stay in hysterical laughter for over 5 minutes.

That's it. Misha is cast.

Yes. Argh. Honestly.
I spent 3 hours colour correcting, then I firewired the comp to a screen to check my res and suddenly all and I mean ALL of my colour correction was un-applied. 3. Hours.

Ianno some random computer fuckup or someshit. Anyway we restarted the computer with me bouncing on my heels thinking "shitshitshitshit" and it worked fine *phew* then the lecturer who teaches documantary directing came up and watched it and was like "I like it, but can you change that cut?"
"...I have 20 mins till the deadline."
"Oh it won't take that long will it?"
"Paula, it took me an HOUR to get that thing looking how it is..."
"Why so long?"

Nnnnng I hate when people don't realise how much WORK goes into post.

Have them do it themselves and they'll know. I haven't edited so much to know that it takes lots of time and not presto! to get the results wanted. Of course, I had the chance to "gleefully" listen to clients' requests to gain a perception of how nasty it is when it's not purely your own work or creation and you can't decide anything for them >.

To be honest half if me was SO GLAD that my assigned director just left me to it, you know? I love editing alone.
