For one crazy moment in time it had made sense. In a way the world had stopped making sense on a tanker in the middle of the ocean, and hadn’t properly made sense… since.
Lucas was warm against him, and Nigel grasped at him, pulling him closer. As though he could absorb some of that warm, protection against the cold of the world…
But the door opened, and just as quickly Lucas is gone.
The doctor sighed as he sat up properly. “I suppose your precious protocols have something to say about this?”
Molly smirked. “Only that you rotate closets.”
