This is really powerful. It's the love Tom can't stop feeling that really brings out the horror of what she's done to him, even more than the hinted violence.

Ah! I love that you brought in the dimmest star and made her shine. It's like Kindkit says, so beautiful with so much horror underneath it (whereas the original was more about just laying out the trauma). I love that this is so much in his head while still giving us hints of what it looks like from the outside. I love the line about the outlines and colors of her stories. Thank you very much for this, mystery writer! ♥
