I love this. You've done an amazing job of capturing the sinister feeling of the episode, the way that plant life is ultimately inimical to animality (which includes individuality and the self). Gorgeous prose, too; I adore entangled, subsumed, consumed.

Yay! I wasn't sure if you would like it, but I loved your story, how it made me think about the weird, creepy interaction between Harrison Chase and the Crynoid. I wanted to approach it from a different direction than you had (obviously) but that moment was compelling.

Oh yes. That was one of the things that so totally creeped me out about that episode when I first saw it as a child; the slow, inexorable, agonizing loss of self that the victims of the Crynoid suffered. I wanted to capture that here.
