I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. See, the only other time I have ever capslocked in feedback was for another remix of a fic of mine. I just love getting remixed--it's like the ultimate kind of feedback.
I never considered what might happen if someone had shifter genes, but didn't have a full set of them. And it's a compelling idea that they'd feel the pull of the moon but not actually be able to shift--this is now going in my personal canon for this AU. I can totally see Ray dancing or fucking the night away during the full moon, and it would really add to his connection to Fraser, too, when he finds out about him. OH, RAY. &hearts
I'm so pleased you enjoyed it, luzula! I agree, a sensitive remix feels like the best, most in-depth feedback, where you can see exactly how the author responds to your original piece. It's not defined, in this fic, whether Fraser IS a shifter - but it seems likely that howl at the end is his. They'd be so good for each other!
