Love this part:

Her parents made her take lessons from the time she was five until she convinced them that debate team would look better on college applications. To this day, piano sounds like wasted afternoons in Mrs. Hubbles' overheated living room/studio, like the boredom of endless scales.

This was my first House fic, and I'm so embarrassed of it now. But this is wonderful - I love the POV switch, Allison's relationship to music, the little details ("debate team would look better on college applications," "Mrs. Hubbles' overheated living room/studio") and the last line in particular is sweet. LOL, now I've got to stop myself before I quote the entire 100 words at you! Anyway, thank you mystery author - I love it!
