I also love this as a remix, too; how you kept some of the cadence of the original but fleshed it out into a contained story, and the contrasts between the engine room and shuttle were nicely done. Gorgeous!

I was so happy to find your original because, though you might not see it from looking at what I've written, Kaylee/Inara is my Firefly otp. :D Yours was gorgeous and also had one of my favorite things to do with drabbles, which is playing with the length of each individual line, so I, yeah, had a great time turning it sideways while holding onto some of your lovely words and images. Thanks so much for giving me the chance to write all of these! I enjoyed the challenge so much!
