She'd thought once that running away from the Doctor would mean escaping from pain and death and strangeness. But the bad things in life never do go away just because you're tired of dealing with them. It's taken her years of ordinary, Earth-bound life to learn that, but it applies to evil aliens, too.
Tegan can hear screams, now, coming from somewhere outside. She sighs, and slips on her shoes, and goes to help.
