Dear Remixer,

It's always exciting, if a little scary, to see what another writer has done to make your fic their own. Let me say, I could not be happier. Jennifer's side of the story needed to be told. As much I think she and Rodney were not a good fit, I do feel bad that Rodney was kind of an ass to her. I love that her voyage back to Earth was a voyage of self-discovery. I want to know more about her changes, and who she becomes as she and Atlantis go back to the Pegasus galaxy.

SO thank you, anonymous-for-now writer, for making this a richer story, with fuller characterization for someone I admittedly gave short shrift.

Oh, I'm thankful you liked it! I worried a great deal about stepping on toes, but so many of your other stories are so complete and this is one that I felt still had a story to be told inside of it.

I agree that Jennifer and Rodney weren't a good fit and it was really cathartic to be able to give her a 'good' future of her own.

I really did, and I'm so happy to see others love it as much as I do. (I hope you're following the recs!). I wanted to like Jennifer (as her own character)
more than TPTB seemed to want to let me, so I'm glad to see her come into her own here.

I like your future better than the one in my head, wherein she didn't go back to Atlantis, but found her life never satisfying thereafter.

So no toe-stepping here, but even if there had been, that's your right as a remixer. Anyway, thank you again!

Oh oh oh oh oh oh! This is totally wonderful. I love this look inside Jennifer's head -- all of the little details, her lunch date with Teyla (and Teyla saying she'd never understood how hard it was to be so far from home; oh, Teyla) and the new Sonic in Chippewa Falls and Jennifer snarking at Ronon because she's not sure where she belongs... and then the ending. Atlantis getting ready for takeoff, and Jennifer right where she belongs: taking hold of her life with both hands and going off to have her own adventures, because once you've been a part of Atlantis, I don't think anything else can ever be the same.

Thank you! I think one of the things I found most interesting about Jennifer as a character was her ambivalence about being on Atlantis. Everyone else is so wholeheartedly invested...and yet, as you say, I don't think you can be the same after having been there, so this seemed like a very logical outcome for her. Glad you liked it!

that maybe what she was waiting for all this time was simply for herself to catch up with herself Much better explaination of her behaviour.

Love that NOT being shot at is the weird part. Great interaction with Teyla and Ronon.
enjoyed!
