Oh, yes, yes, yes! This is exactly the sort of story I like remix for. You capture the beginning and ending of the original beautifully, but, in between, you turn it from a story about how to deal with the only person who shared an ordeal with you, to how to deal with all of the people who didn't. (Or would have had that ordeal happened which it didn't, so they don't remember anymore.)

In any case, this is just the sort of interesting take on the text that I hope to see in this challenge.

Thankyou Zvi-- I'm so interested in the idea of remix that it was great to get feedback on this story from this perspective. Actually, that very idea was something I thought about a lot-- what is a remix actually about? Would mine count because it essentially inverts the original idea and shows her coming to an understanding-- however unspoken-- with the other members of the team. It's about remembering rather than forgetting, and the price and value of that rather than temporary release. Eventually, of course, I stuck with this idea because despite expanding the original parameters and telling a very different tale, it's still a commentary, a reaction-- and those are the most fun remixes, for me!

A longwinded way of saying: thanks for reading, and for commenting!

This is just lovely! I just really like the spin you put on the story to tell a different side, bookending it with bits from the original.

Thank you so much - this is a very cool remix that I enjoyed very much. :-)

Eee. I'm so glad you enjoyed it raisintorte! I really did want it to function as a comment on your story, even though it veered off in a different direction. I hope the Martha&Jack made up for the lack of Martha/Jack in the story! Thanks so much for writing your story, because I had a fantastic time remixing it.

PS- So much icon love!
