If you remembered. Phuket day 6 I was reduced to nothing but a bundled bunch of nerves at my temples that's screaming to break out of prison. I had a very bad headache. Incidentally, I told A that morning that we should look around Patong beach. We've been here 6 days and hardly did anything here. So off we went. It's somewhat of a disappointment to me. Cos it was just this run down stretch of beach. I remembered strolling along in the mid day sun, my feet in the sand and I ponder what humankind does to natural surroundings like these. Do we always destroy them all? Look at thea beaches, the corals... heck, there has been loads of documentary lately that seem to be painting us in bad light. Look at Cove. Now in the French Film Festival, there is Ocean. I know not what to think of myself as a fellow human being. Am I part of the Ecosystem or just a virus in it?
Day 6 was also the day I wanted to blogged about Day 3. And I let A do the job.
I now fast foward to day 7.
Day 7 I woke up and shook myhead a bit. I was apprehensive. But luck has it that the chaos within was gone. Like the wind. I turned around and saw A still deep in sleep. He must have had a later night then I did. I had no idea what time he turned in cos I zombied out.
He woke up shortly after and off we went. Today was fun. We ventured up North. The northen part of Phuket seemed more atas. This is where all the Laguna resorts etc are. So you can expect more atas crowd. And as we ventured up North, the sights of causasian men holding hands with the local girls waned. I have some pictures which I will post later.
We decided that we should go and see teh waterfalls... but heck., with 7 baht between us, we didn't know that you need 200baht for entry per pax.... so I looked back longingly at the park while A rode us back to the hotel.
Anny was there with David and Maria. Anny was so excited to see me...
"Danny!!!! Danny!!!! Come come! Your favourite!!!"
I let out a huge grin as always...
"What is it?" I hollered back
"Come come, its your favourite!!!"
And I could see Maria's face grimacing at this packet of stuff that David was holding.
It was the fried crickets/maggots/locusts/flies.
We sat down at the lounge and chatted... David was about to try the insects and Maria was filming... I did a short intro...
Of the insects... the one that tasted the woest has to be the crickets... it has a very buggy taste to it... The rest are fine... like fried ikan bilis. A let out that he ever had a live maggot once in army. I have newfound respect for my friend.
Since it was our last night we decided to take some pics with Anny, David and Maria. I haven't uploaded any of my pics... will show them here sometime soon.
That wraps up Phuket.
I might come back soon. If the ticket are cheap.
