Phuket Day 3 - Guest Entry (A)

Sep 19, 2010 19:57

For this entry, I decided to do something different. I asked A if he would like to blog one of my entries. Somewhat like a guest star. I am beginning to like this concept. Emimem feat. Rihanna, Timbaland feat, Justin, Justin Bieber feat. Usher. Today is already day 6. i am nursing a headache. Must be th e sun. I digress. I will give my version of day 3 in time. But before that, here is A's version.

phuket morning is boring; not because phuket is boring but because we never fail to leave our hotel before twelve. the third day is no exception. in retrospective, it was not bad at all considering sleeping has been one of my all time favorite pastime (though its too unproductive)
alright, that wraps up the morning portion.

danny took his usual bath and i took my usual morning staplte... malboro mint crisp. afterwhich, we put on the oily and sticky sunblock. of course, our cool shades we gotten in phuket. beforewhich (for me) , my troublesome contact lens.

we head down to the reception. we had a quick and fun chat with the beautiful and sweet day shift receptionist who knows next to nothing about phuket. but at least she was able to settle our payments for our room and motorbike. and there is the hotel cat which is so so adorable.

we took off to phuket beach to top up on gasoline and head down south. it was not a too difficult ride. did i mention in the blazing sun. yes, the sun would have killed me in singapore. lucky, i am in phuket. we did a few stops where danny will ask about directions. we passed karon. In kata, we saw this crowded (i.e. like got a number of patrons) resturant (kind of like a small coffee shop in singapore) by a long narrow stretch of road. so we had our lunch there for thursday, friday and saturday (the restuarant is closed on sunday) . we had two main, one side dish and four ice coffee... haha... the food is good and the price is even better (abit better).

after lunch, we rode further down to the view point where danny whipped out his powershot and took many power shots (check out his pictures) . as for me, i whipped out my pack of malboro mint crisp and have a few sticks of menthol drags.

next stop was the main agenda of thursday, prompthen cape, this is the place to watch the sunset and maybe the sun rise. there are like a million people even on a thursday evening. there are even like maybe 5 groups of student doing their school excursions. again, we both did what we need to do at every stop; danny the photographer and me the smoker. we enjoyed the sunset. danny probably got like slightly slightly.. very slightly... upset that the powershot went out of power. so for the rest of the evening, it was just my malboros... haha...

where did we go after that? hmm... with the objective cleared. that needed abit of a concentration. i believe we stop by a outdoor wetmarket and had the cheapest food we can find in phuket. we had delicious mango with glutinious rice (yellow and grey rice). we had okay chicken and okay sausages. they are all ten baht each except of the mango with glutinious rice.

once we cleared dinner, we rode to jung ceylon shopping centre in phuket beach. this is back to where we stayed in case you do not remember. danny mentioned that we should always take care of our skin... face... after putting them through such torture in the day. so we got ourselves a mask each. its three for the price of two. cheap right? it would have been two for the price of one the next day. stupid. before i forgot, we also we back to the hundred baht t-shirt store to buy more t-shirt... haha...

with t-shirt and masks in hand, we went back to our hotel where we chit chatted with annie, the night shift receptionist, and a british couple. danny handled the annie while i handled the couple. we did pretty well as we were at the reception counter for like almost an hour.

back in the room, its already day four, so check out phuket day 4 entry... haha... but, to give you a heads up, we took our showers, put on our masks, watch mtv, read book, surf internet and slept.

phuket, guest
