"F@#k lah, I am not your beck and call!"

Sep 06, 2010 09:07

Friday was fun. I called L up.

L: What's up?

Me: Nothing ah, what's for tonight?

L: F@#K lah, I am not your beck and call.

Haha, this is the latest joke. About being someone's beck and call. After I remarked that I never wanted to be someone's beck and call like in my last relationship. L always has a wicked sense of humor that makes my most serious of topics look silly.

Me: KNS, don't anyhow say beck and call. I call you asking what's up etc etc.

L: Haha, I know lah...

He finishes work at 6-7, I can leave at 5pm. And I don't like to go home to change. Cos I most probably won't make it out again.

And I needed a pair of bottoms for my Wednesday for #3's wedding. I don't wanna turn up in white shorts like #1.

So I thought, I would be all alone. Doing the shopping on my own. We have a play by ear policy. We're not siamese twins... don't meet, won't die.

Chance had it that bestie gave a ring. On a friday?! I raised my eyebrow.

Me: What's up?

Bestie: What are you doing tonight?

Me: Probably going shopping with L. Why?

Bestie: Someone blew me off.

Me: F@#K lah, I am not your beck and call!

... ...

Haha, so I had dinner with bestie and L. I watch in amazement as 2 of my closest friends chatted. This has never happened before. There are loads of similarities between bestie and L. It could be that they are the same starsign. Capricorns. Incidentally, it's the capricorns in my life that keep me grounded. If bestie was my totem in Inception, then L is the red pill in Matrix. They seem to know each other for ages! They agree on most things. Shucks, in my narrow mind, I picture them as the new besties! Hahaha, kdding. It was fun doing dinner with 2 of my closest. I'm always happy when my friends get along. Maybe it means I chose the right friends? I don't know.

Saturday morning, I woke early. And off to Kallang to help out with Dragonboating. Something that is close to heart, cos I made many a friends in the sport and had to give it up due to other reasons. The call had came from a bro. But I am in no shape to paddle. Fitness level had dropped tremendously. It was an orientation session. I copped out. But Chief sent an email last minute saying it "would be good for Coach to concentrate teaching while someone cox the boat". Haha, I am the only few who knows how to cox in the group. And most parts of it involves standing behind the boat and looking good. LOL. Why not?! So after applying layers and layers of sunblock. Equipped with a jungle hat and sunglasses. I went to Kallang.

I think it is safe to say I GLOW amongst the tanned people. They probably thought I was there to do drop-off and pick-up. Still, all was fun. I had time to day dream in the boat as it went around the bayshore/shearesbridge area. =) And then its off home with bestie (who was paddling for his team). And I had to rush out to Ion. For some event.

I was waiting outside F store when I saw someone from afar. It was someone I knew from the magazine. Haha, 2008 alumnus! We chatted briefly and DP came. He's so forgetful. The event is NEXT WEEK. So we ended up furniture shopping for his new place. Met L for a music event and then coffee. Then off to dinner with the Yapsters. =) Nice and cosy. Long catch-up overdue.

And THEN off to the drinking place where GGG and T was there. This was another 1st. The 3 of us, despite being to parties many a time have never hung out like this. Another capricorn and a fellow aquarian. What can go wrong? =)

Saturday was a long one eh? Of course, I recuperated the whole of Sunday.

And I dreamed of you.
