Oh man! We bought a house. Can you believe it? I can't. Pictures, did you say? Here are a few!
That's the dining room up there, with the new dining table (that table brings me deep joy every time I look at it), and 2 red walls (with a whisper of raspberry) and 2 dove grey walls. Also, note the living room. What color paint did we use in the living room? Did someone ask that? Walls are very very very light creamy grey (really, cream with just a touch of this pretty chestnut-y grey) and a deeper chocolaty grey in judiciously selected spots (under the windows, as evidenced in the pic) and above the fireplace (not visible in the pictures).
Okay, another view of the dining room with its fab red walls. And there's my mouton in the background (yes! he's suddenly giant!), looking over all the plaster-dust-covered crap on the plaster-dust-covered table. These photos were taken pre-deep-cleaning. Again with the dining table. I'm smitten, I tell you.
Okay, I know, I know, enough with the dining table. Still. So pretty, no?
The garden. This picture doesn't do it justice. We have wisteria, jasmine, lemon verbena, honeysuckle, several different camellias (bright, creamy white and wild rich salmon-y pink!), and various roses. Plus, hyacinth, daffodils, tulips, and masses of violets. My joy at this garden knows no bounds. I know! I'm rhapsodizing! But I can't help myself!
Here's my sweetie, contemplating the hanging bit of this crazy lamp we got to go over the dining table.
More of my sweetie and the lamp.
And, finally, the door from the garden into the veranda - a gorgeous indoor/outdoor kind of room where we'll be able to eat breakfast during the spring and summer. Coffee all year 'round.
And that, my friends, is the house. Our new house. In Bordeaux! I'm amazed. Delighted and amazed. It's my dream house. Yes, yes indeed. My dream house.
