1. I've found a new pediatrician for Trent. Long story short: She has been looking at a growth chart for a normal child, instead of the growth chart for a child with Down syndrome. The chart she was using put him in the fifth percentile. The Down syndrome growth chart has him in the 25th percentile. Due to the wrong chart, she was advising me to keep him on the higher calorie mix of formula, risking high phosphorous levels and kidney problems. Luckily for me, I had been slowly lowering the calories in his formula but replacing them with rice cereal and more intake of formula. He is still steadily gaining weight. The true last straw for me was the many reassurances that she was making a referral to a GI doctor, yet the referral has not been made. I'm over it. This doctor has seen Devon and Layla since they were babies, and I've always liked her. I just think she is not capable of keeping up with a special needs child, and she is too proud to admit it. So I'm moving on.
2. The third book of 2009 was Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. Excellent memoir. It had been sitting in my bookcase for years. I'm glad I finally picked it.
3. After seeing the commercials so often, Tony and I decided to try K-Y Yours and Mine last night. It is not as special as the commercials would have you believe, but it definitely helps with the WOW factor. :D
4. Anyone need a car? We are selling our 2002 Explorer XLT because I need a Minivan. My back cannot handle lifting Trent into the SUV anymore. And considering he will be delayed in walking, I will be lifting him for at least another 8-9 months.
5. Happy Valentine's Day to all. Tony and I didn't do anything special for each other because it is really just another day to us. We are pretty good about being loving all year round. Well...we are having New York Strip tonight so that is kinda special. And the experience of last night was quite nice. :p~
