When I was younger I used to believe the movies. A man would meet a woman and they would fall in love. The whole world would cease to have meaning and they could not be apart. The man would tell the woman he could not live without her, and they would be together, happily ever after. But, I think the problem with this is that if movies were like real life, they would be confusing and sometimes a little boring. Movies need dialog. From my experience, men do not say those lines that women like me think they will one day hear. It is a sad moment of clear realization that I won't get flowers for no reason. Not that flowers will fix all, but they are the simplest symbol I can think of. "Flowers for No Reason" encompasses all romantic ideas.
Am I sappy to want to think that men should go out of their way to be romantic once in a while? I don't think so. I don't even think these occurrences should be frequent. If only a few times in my life I were to be thought about romantically, I would be satisfied.
Take her by the small of her back with one hand, and the side of her face with the other, gently kiss her and just tell her how much you love her.
Its as simple as just making sure the ones who are there for you, know that you care. I must be living in a fantasy and I blame Disney movies and lame children's stories that make you believe romantic love can coexist within a long relationship.
I'm not giving up though. One life and I'm not giving up on believing this is not all I have to look forward to.
