It's obvious he's just turned the video function on with a tap from his hand, because he pulls it back and slips it somewhere into the fabric of the wool dressing robe he's wearing over his clothes at the moment, to scratch at something irritating. His expression is tired and a ( Read more... )

Who'd you end up in a row with, Remus?

Mother Nature. She tells me she has no time to hear me out this week, and all of her little birds agree with her, would you believe.

Er-was it one of those plants from the other day, then?

It was just a charm gone very wrong on me, Harry. Don't worry yourself overly much, because it's hardly a bother to me, and Ginny's got it controlled.

Oh. All right, then.

And I don't see why we have to help, Draco.

I didn't figure that you would see why. But it does behoove us to make sure that he at least finds his way back home in one piece, doesn't it?

Yes, I suppose so, but I also think the idea of him living like a Muggle could teach him a few things.

Living like a Muggle, Harry?

Well, here, anyway. He is a Pure-blood, after all, and this City, while having some unusual things, isn't exactly a wizarding one.

Malfoy changes a lot, and has gone through a lot, but that doesn't make him any more agreeable.

... Yes, I know.

And while he comes to help us, in the future, that doesn't make me any more willing to help.

Actually ... his mother is the reason I'm even alive.

I'm not necessarily asking you to help. Only...not to hinder, maybe.

Narcissa?

Yes.

Turns out, she's actually a very good woman, and put her son before Voldemort. Lied and told him that I was dead. It was ... brave.

Bravery comes from unexpected quarters. As does treachery.

Because of that, I should help him, but I'd rather not. There are things he needs to realise and learn, anyway. But I'll keep from fighting with the git, if that will help.

It would make me feel a little more at ease. It's difficult for me to not imagine him as a boy of thirteen. All of you, really. Hermione's already well pointed out how awful it is of me.

On a better note, I hope you aren't making too many plans for your birthday?
