Week in REview

Isn't it ironic how things turn out sometimes? When it seems like nothing could go wrong in your life and everything is great, one thing bad happens and your whole life, it seems, is ruined. The truth can be said about the opposite.

I guess in a weird way that's why i haven't written on this all week. I usually write about sad, depressing things, or things that relatively piss me off. Yet this week, has been...different..so to speak.

It hasn't really been a good week by any means...but it has been a rather nice change of pace. All my teachers seem very lax now on assignments, and very understanding of the hell they have put us through, and have taken it rather easy as of late (for me anyway) I've met a couple new people and have even had lunch with someone that i consider as a new friend.

99 on my speech. It's great finally getting that feeling back that when i do something i think is good, I get the grade i feel like i deserved. You know, like back in high school. Annnnnnnnnnnnnd the power just went out...friggin. Amazing.

See? just when things seems great.. something bad happens. I guess it's just time to expect the unexpected.

Same can be said about the future too. In all reality guys, and i really mean this, I. am. scared. shitless. of our future and what it has in store for us.

I fully believe our generation has more power than they know and we have no clue of the potential we have to put that power towards. Yet, from what i've seen from my fellow "brethren" in these past 19 years.. I see nothing good coming from it. Sure, there's always those select few (like the whole town of new braunfels) that would use it towards the greater good. But meeting people from different lifestyles (such as those from other parts of the US) truly makes me wonder if, as individuals, we are on the same page.

I saw a man get arrested today on campus for speaking his opinion about how the entire student body at texas state is going to hell. Granted this is freedom of speech, but it was causing chaos and retaliation from the student body.

This is not what scares me.

What does is that there were some individuals that were agreed with the man and were threatening to FIGHT the cops on his behave. In my opinion they were clearly not thinking about the greater good, and only thinking about what they thought was right...and resorted to violence to prove it.

We are a greedy, power hungry, nation.

Expect the unexpected people. Irony is a cruel, twisted, funny way of showing how messed up reality is.

Oh looky there... the lights just came back on. Maybe it will be a good day after all =]
