(no subject)
I bet I looked really, really cool and really, really attractive driving to my sister's this morning with no makeup while wearing both my regular glasses AND my sunglasses. Oooooh yeeeeaaah.
My sister was driving Ava (my niece) and me back to my house, and Ava started yelling "Wheels! Wheels!" which I came to learn meant that she wanted to listen to her Wheels on the Bus CD. My sister's response: "I don't have that with me! I have..." *ejects CD* "Jay-Z!"
I thought that was pretty hilarious, but then I started wondering why on earth my sister has a Jay-Z CD. It occured to me that she might be a closet hip-hop fan. ...Or rather, I never really knew she was a fan of hip-hop nor would I have expected her to be one. Then I remembered how one year she gave me a few CDs for Christmas, one of which was a Source compilation CD (The Source being a major hip-hop magazine). At the time I thought that was odd seeing as I don't really consider myself an avid listener of hip-hop music, and I thought Well, maybe she's just trying to be, uh, hip (No pun intended). But now it all makes sense!
I wonder if she can freestyle...
