Italy's brother found a means of escape on his own. I've been here for a month, and no progress. How irritating...

In the meantime, I find my new profession as an auto mechanic satisfying, at least. It keeps the mind sharp, looking at engines and diagnosing problems, keeping my reflexes sharp, working with my hands. The cars here are really poorly ( Read more... )

These training drills you mention... you sound pretty serious about them.

One should be serious about everything they take on in life, ma'am.

You're right.

I meant more along the lines of... does one need to have already been a... a soldier to participate?

So long as you are ready to accept your duties as a soldier from now on, determined to fight for your freedom from this place, then you will be admitted.

What is your name?

Mia. Mia Fey. And you?

I will have to consider this more carefully. I have two... two children that I feel responsible for, and I'm not sure I trust my drone 'husband'. It's not that I don't want freedom from this place - for me and my sister and everyone else - but I've learned through life (and death) that there is only so much you can do.

Germany, or Ludwig if you prefer. I live in the same dwelling as Simon and MOMO, and I understand your concern; even if they are not our children, it is impossible to deny a feeling of duty in securing their protection.

Know simply this: There is always something you can do.

Nice to meet you, Germany.

Indeed. It's something I used to adhere to quite often as a lawyer, and I hope that my instincts are not wrong here.

Speaking of children and protection...

You say you are the 'father' of a girl named Momo?

In a manner of speaking, yes. You know of her?

I made a promise to a boy that I would take care of her if something went wrong. And after speaking with him again, I believe something... went wrong.

And... is she all right? Is there anything I need to do? I've already arranged with the boy to come over and visit.

((that's how it goes sometimes! :D no worries, we can make it work))

If it's like before, when Simon was 'changed', then she'll return back to normal in a short while. Until then, we must treat her the same as the other drones.

Do you mind if I come over anyway? Just briefly. I want to see them for myself, so that maybe Simon will remember that I kept my promise and will do so again.
