Seattle

It is amazing to think that I haven't posted on this thing for like ten thousand years. Oh well. I wanted to write about my time in Seattle and this is the best way to do it.

I'm in Seattle. Right now, in my sister's house, about a block away from Seattle Pacific University, looking out the window into a cloudy and gray blue sky (I love the weather up here!). I really think I'm gonna end up here. I don't know though. I kind of had a really bad experience today. It might have been called "the worst day of my entire life". Let's start from the beginning.

My dad and I flew in yesterday morning. I was kind of depressed a little bit just because of social circumstances and friends. It's so drama! I kind of can't wait to be done with high school, but at the same time I kind of like being spoiled, living with my parents and not having to do my laundry, not having to work, not having to pay for my own gas. My life is "cushy" at home, as my dad calls it. Anyway! We arrived and had lunch with sis. Went to the school, went on a cruise on the Puget Sound (local lake) and saw Seattle's skyline and then went to a concert before I went to bed. Now! Here is where the bad stuff starts. I went back to the dorm where I was supposed to stay. The room where I was supposed to be in had no one in there. I had no host. What was I supposed to do? Just make myself at home and sleep? Or do I talk to someone else? I had no rules or regulations to follow, no instructions. So, I just went to bed on the couch with my sleeping bag. Way uncomfortable. Woke up at 5:30 and looked over to the empty bunk and transferred my body and sleeping bag to the nice mattress. Didn't really sleep, got up at 6:30. Took a walk before I went to breakfast at Gwinn Commons. Then the day took a turn for the worse when I was going to my audition for a Fine Arts Scholarship. Huge misunderstanding of locations between everyone at the school. I thought it was at Demaray Hall, when it was actually in Demaray Chapel, nevertheless, the lady told me to go to Crawford Music Building. Three different places. Where to go? I turns out it was in the chapel. I missed my audition time. Luckily, the professor met me and took me into a music practice room. I did my singing and I was on my way. I guess it wasn't actually as bad as I thought it went. I was just flustered because of the misunderstandings. I met some people up here. All girls. I've been finding out more and more that I am unable to relate to men as well as I do with women. I'm kind of nervous about living in the dorms with a whole bunch of guys who are nothing like me. I'm clean, most guys aren't. I go to bed early, most guys stay up late. I'm artsy, they're sporty. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Right now, I'm really just relying on God to tell me what his plan is for me.

SPU's concert choir is amazing and I desperately hope that I can sing in it.

Can someone please call me so I am not so lonely? Let's hang.

Peace,
Joey
