Disclaimer: Sadly only the story belongs to me

A/N: Ok I’m a terrible person; I know this as I have already been told more than once, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to update in some time as I’ve been down with the flu (not swine flu as my friends and teachers have already had a good laugh about) and I am heading towards my 18th birthday and my mid year exams, which just happen to fall at the same time. Yay what a great birthday I’m gonna have. NOT!!! Anyway I promise to keep up with my updates as much as possible from now on though I may be a few days late every so often until my exams are finished. Okay enough from me and on with the story…………………

It took about five minutes to ride through town to the centre, where the clinic was sited. The town, where Jaejoong had grown up, wasn’t very large by any means, together with the families in the surrounding farms there was little more than 500 people living in the area, but Jaejoong wouldn’t have it any other way. Some of the teenagers in town spoke of getting out as soon as they could, as if there were walls barricading them in. Jaejoong had never felt like that, his mother and father had been born and raised here as had his grandparents. This was his home and he hoped he never had to leave. XXXX was a place where everyone knew you and you knew everyone, they looked out for each other. Like a family.

Unfortunately every family had a black sheep, and theirs was currently crossing the road, heading in a bee line for Jaejoong. Jaejoong would bet his life the guy had been waiting there for some time, just like he did every morning.
Sighing Jaejoong walked his bike to the front wall of the clinic. He didn’t bother chaining it up, it would still be there at the end of the day. Jaejoong had never had a reason to chain up his bike and he sometimes wondered why his mother had insisted he get the chain to begin with. Turning back around he came face to face with the biggest pain in the butt he had ever had the misfortune of meeting; Park Yoochun. Putting on a smile, Jaejoong tried to act friendly.
“Good Morning Yoochun. How are you today?” although he didn’t particularly care, his mother had taught him manners and he’d be damned if he was going to lose face in front of this man.
“I’m great Joongie, now that I’ve seen you that is.”
Jaejoong screwed up his face and tried not to look as grossed out as he felt. After all these years, Yoochun still insisted on calling Jaejoong that ridiculous nickname, and though Jaejoong had pointed out countless times that he hated the name, Yoochun insisted it was cute and continued to use it.
Said boy was currently rambling on about the new film that was going to be showing at the town’s only cinema. Jaejoong nodded politely as Yoochun continued knowing what was to come and wishing it wouldn’t.
“So Joongie, do you want to see the film?”
“Yep.” Jaejoong watched as Yoochun chocked on some unknown thing and stared at him in shock.
“Really?” Jaejoong almost felt bad for what he was about to do. ALMOST being the key word.
“Yep, just not with you.” Jaejoong could swear a pin had stuck Yoochun, he watched the boy practically deflate, as he began to pout. It really didn’t suit him.
“Awwwww, Joongie why are you always so mean.” The boy sulked. Jaejoong kept the frown on his face as best as he could as he turned away,
“Goodbye Yoochun.”

Now don’t misunderstand, Jaejoong wasn’t a cruel person, but after years of trying to dissuade the determined younger boy, Jaejoong had come to the conclusion that if he was cold to him, Yoochun would eventually give up and move on. Three years and counting and the boy seemed more determined than ever. Sighing once again Jaejoong entered the clinic to find his computer already on and Kangin sitting at the desk completing some forms Jaejoong was suppose to have finished last week. Feeling guilty he rushed forwards, throwing his bag and coat down as he went.
“Dr. Kangin, I’m so sorry I didn’t finish those for you. Do you need them? I can finish them off quickly and get them to you with in the hour.” He reached forwards to take the papers, but Kangin knocked his hand away gently before placing the forms into a folder and tucking them under his arm.
“Don’t worry about them Jaejoong. I don’t need them but I gathered you could use some help getting this lot finished.” He gestured to the growing pile that sat at the end of the desk. Jaejoong was normally very vigilant when he came to his work and all files and forms where completed and efficiently filed away in the back room by the end of each day. However, recently Jaejoong had been growing exhausted long before the day ended and he often left the work for the next day. The only problem being more work came the next day and eventually he was left with what lay before him. One shit load of work.
“I’m sorry Kangin. I’ve just been very tired recently.” Jaejoong sighed as he moved to take the seat that Kangin had just left.
“I figured as much. You’re here more than I am these days. You start at 7am and you’re still here long after I leave at 6pm. Mrs. Kim said she saw you leaving at 11pm the other night. What were you doing here so late?”
“I fell asleep while trying to finish some work. It’s okay really, just give me some time and I’ll be back on my feet before you know it.” Jaejoong gave his brightest smile in hopes of pacifying the worried Doctor. Since he had come to work at the clinic, Kangin had taken him under his wing, helping in the absence of his father. Kangin had known his father before he passed away, having met him while studying medicine. The last thing he wanted to do was cause undue worry on the man he had come to look up to.
Kangin sighed deeply, “Jaejoong, I don’t want you to get offended but I’ve decided to hirer somebody else.”
Jaejoong’s world came to a halt. Did that mean he was fired? Was Kangin trying to tell him he wasn’t needed anymore? Looking up at the man with wide eyes, he tried to remain calm.
“I u...u…understand. W…w...when do I finish?” He stuttered receiving a confused look from Kangin.
“What do you mean finish?” realisation seemed to dawn on his face and he laughed. “Jaejoong, I’m not firing you! I simply thought you could use some help, so I hired somebody to come in and take some of the work load off you.”
A wave of relief hit Jaejoong as he took a large breath to calm himself, waiting for his panicked heart to return to normal. The idea of somebody helping him out didn’t seem like such a bad idea and maybe his mother would stop worrying about him if he managed to get home before dinner for a change.
“Oh!” He smiled “Who did you hire? Was it Tiffany? I heard she was looking for a job at the moment.”
Kangin gave him a weird look “Tiffany? Good God no! I Said I hired you Help! What kind of help could that girl be? No the person I hired seemed very enthusiastic to work here.”
Jaejoong laughed, it was true. Tiffany, though nice enough was a little clueless…..Okay who was he kidding, She was plain stupid. But that still left his question unanswered. Who had Kangin hired?
“If not Tiffany then who…..” at that moment the door of the clinic flew open and Park Yoochun stalked through the door looking very smug.
“Yoochun what do you want now? I already told you I’m not going to the movies with you, now scram!” Jaejoong stood up and started pushing the annoying boy out the door.
“Jaejoong, that’s not what I’m here about, I’m here to start work!” Yoochun yelled as he tried to stop the older boy from shoving him out. Jaejoong froze, stepping back suddenly, leaving Yoochun to fall in a heap on the floor.
“What…..Did……You…..Just……Say?” Jaejoong asked slowly, fearing the worse. He looked at Yoochun who was brushing himself off with a smirk on his face. Swinging around to face Kangin, Jaejoong stepped towards him with a dark look on his face.
“Please………..Tell me he is lying.” Kangin stood perfectly still with an awkward, confused look on his face.
“I thought you’d be happy, you two are friends aren’t you?”
“Oh God!” Jaejoong slumped down in his seat, groaning.
“Jaejoong are you okay?” Kangin looked incredibly guilty. Before he had a chance to reply he suddenly he felt arms embrace him.
“Don’t worry Dr. Kangin, he’s fine, just excited. He’s always complaining we don’t hang out enough and now we get to spend every day together.” Yoochun grinned and Kangin looked reassured. Jaejoong was about to protest when Kangin interrupted.
“I’m glad; I’ve been worried about him recently. I’ll feel better now that he has somebody to help him out and make sure he takes a break every so often.” Sighing Jaejoong remained quiet, he didn’t want Kangin to worry about him and if that meant he’d have to put up with Yoochun then, he’d just have to bite the bullet and do it.
Kangin turned to leave, before suddenly turning back and tossing something to Jaejoong.
“Oh I almost forgot, Happy Birthday Jaejoong. It’s not much but I thought you’d like it.”
Then with a smile he left the two boys as he headed to prepare the examination room for the day.
The moment Kangin was out of sight, Jaejoong turned and knocked Yoochun around the head, causing the boy to release his waist.
“Aw Joongie, that hurt.” Jaejoong simply huffed in reply as he turned to the stack of papers in front of him. “Hey, why didn’t you tell me it was your birthday, I would have gotten you something.” There was that pout again.
“Stop that Yoochun. It makes you look ugly.” At this Jaejoong received an offended look.
“Ugly! How can you call this face ugly? You know half the girls in town would kill for a shot at this face.” Jaejoong snorted,
“So would I for that matter.” Yoochun grinned but Jaejoong kept talking. “But unfortunately Kangin doesn’t keep a fire arm on the premises.” He stuck his tongue out and proceeded to ignore the younger boy. It was going to be a very long day.

It was 6 o’clock and for the first time since he had started working at the clinic, Jaejoong had finished his work and was able to head home. He could just imagine the look on his mother’s face and he was actually looking forwards to the meal she would no doubt make in celebration on his birthday and the fact he was home early.
Walking out the door he waved goodbye to both Kangin and Yoochun, who were headed in the opposite direction, into town. As he expected his bike was still propped against the wall where he had left it that morning.
The sky was dark but he easily found the track out of town towards his home. He was fairly certain he could find his way home blind folded. After so many late nights and trudging home exhausted he had gotten fairly use to it.
However Jaejoong did not expect the to be somebody on the track and skidding to a halt in an attempt to stop, he toppled off his bike for the second time that day. Groaning from the ground, he slowly sat up. Irritated he climbed to his feet and glared at the young man standing in front of him. He waited for the man to apologise but Jaejoong’s surprise and infuriation, the man didn’t even look at him. It was like Jaejoong didn’t exist.
Stomping his feet, Jaejoong marched up to the infuriating man and grabbed his arm, pulling him round to face him.
“Oy! Don’t you have an apology to make?” Jaejoong waited but the man simply stared at him with shocked eyes. Letting go of the man’s arm, he waved his hand in front of the guy’s face. “Hello! Anybody at home?” Still the man just stared. Jaejoong was starting to wonder if this man was in his right mind. He didn’t look familiar so he wasn’t from around here. Looking him up and down, Jaejoong took in the man’s dark attire, and slightly ruffled black hair. He wasn’t wearing a coat and Jaejoong wondered for a second how this man wasn’t cold. It was dark so he couldn’t make out the guy’s face completely but he’d take a guess that the guy was fairly good looking. How ever he looked lost and was still staring at Jaejoong in apparent amazement.
Suddenly, the guy leaned in incredibly close, Jaejoong learnt backwards trying to keep his distance, going cross eyed as he tried to look at the strange guy who was still getting closer. Then, for the first time, the man spoke……….
“You can see me?!!!”

A/N: okay that’s it for now, any guesses who? Doesn’t really take a genius right? Anyway I am currently in English and should probably spend the last 9 minutes finishing my work. Comments are loved and if you have any criticism feel free. I’ve tried to get rid of as many spelling mistakes as possible but I can’t spell to save my life, so there’s probably still quite a few.
Okay till next time.
