About station names

I don't know why but I'm getting strongly irritated by some names of the metro stations - like Krestyanskaya zastava, Partizanskaya, Proletarskaya, Marksistskaya, Ploschad Revolutsii or Ploschad Ilyicha.
Dumb, supercilious and totally non-informative legacy of the Soviet past.

I have no quarrel with this period of the Russian history, don't get me wrong. I just dislike these names.
