If he goes back and changes things, it wont make a difference to what's already happened in our own time. I...I know it's for the best. Sasuke'll be safe, and the others can be there to help him this time round. Things will be right for one of us, at least.
And if dad goes back with Sasuke, then the other me can...have his father. Everything can be how it should.
