Ok so I’m waiting at the airport and hopefully I’m going to get on a plane tonight, there are delays, big surprise there. I managed to find the internet café though so I thought I’d update you all on how getting my results went. Unless my mother has already told everyone because I did manage to call her briefly a few days ago and tell her the news.
The ceremony was weird, nerve wracking and boring all at the same time. They give out the results for everyone who’s taking a science degree all at the same time and there are a lot of us. It’s all in alphabetical order and they crammed us all into the main performance hall of the University with the Aaron A. Aaronson’s at the very front and the parents at the back
Plus they don’t let anyone know their results beforehand (unless they performed outstandingly and are asked to make a speech). So there were a few tears and unexpected woops of joy as people saw what they got. Seriously though… why make everyone do it it’s torture. I swear I nearly passed out on my way up there and the guy presenting the certificates (some ex-professor at the Uni) must have thought I was having a fit my hands were shaking so much.
Good news though! I passed! With distinction! My ethics mark could have been better but I got almost full marks in the short answer questions and my marks in the long answer papers were good too. I’m so pleased! And I start my internship at the hospital in a week!
I better go I think they’re calling my flight. I wouldn’t want to miss it after waiting all this time. I’ll see you all when I get back!
