general wiki article ✧ TIMELINE: after the 2nd movie.
✧ PERSONALITY:
The characteristic that pretty much defines Sakura is her ever-cheerful personality. She’s always got a smile on her face and tons of energy to spare, jumping from cheerleading practice to house chores to capturing Clow cards. Of course, this isn’t to say that she’s a one dimensional character and her happy mode only has an on switch.
What’s important to note is her unwavering optimism. It’s this way of looking at the world- the belief that everything will be alright in the end, regardless of the situation. That everybody is fundamentally good, and only 'bad' in the sense that they are misunderstood. This is the power that drives Sakura to complete her task of capturing the cards.
But for a girl who’s faced a litany of mischievous and dangerous magical spirits, she’s still awfully naïve. This is extremely evident in a place like Promenade, since she comes from a world where antagonists are never really evil. Sakura’s naturally trusting due to her nature and the fact that, canonically, she’s never met anyone who ‘s taken advantage of these qualities. In some ways, she's just a sweet kid. Overly sympathetic, too trusting, but with keenness that allows her to think and act fast... even if she can be quite the airhead in normal circumstances.
Sakura’s also rather selfless, being the sort of person to always be there to lend a helping hand if there’s something she can do. However, she can be blindingly determined and headstrong as she sometimes disregards the danger of a situation while focusing on her goal. Such as transforming a dangerous number of Clow Cards to Sakura Cards at once despite Kero’s warning, or sneaking off to capture a Clow Card despite being sick.
And selfless doesn't equal fearless. Oh, Sakura is frightened of things. Ghosts, for instance! She's really afraid of ghosts. But as we see in early episodes of CCS, even though Sakura jumps right into her duties as Cardcaptor, she is frightened. She flails, she screams, she squeals. But even as that fear exists, she manages to put it secondary to the task at hand.
Some of the adorable personalities quirks -- as cheery and outgoing as she is, Sakura can be shy! Certainly when it comes to her romantic feelings (toward Syaoran), but also when she uses her powers in a way that draw attention to her in an awkward way. For instance, when she uses The Big and becomes giant Sakura, or picks up the penguin slide with The Power.

Foreign was not enough to describe the sights and sounds of this strange City. Never had she seen such a fountain, its towers of water springing forward in patterns, or such a large park where four seasons met at once. There was even a carousel set in the middle of the City. But even that felt peculiar to her, as if there was a malign touch to the painted horses and gold etchings.
What rang out strange to her was not the physical setting, but the essence of the city. Like Hong Kong and its old shadows of magic, this City had an ancient and inscrutable presence that emanated from its very core. At least that was what it felt like, and while she could have easily been wrong in trying to connect the memory, Sakura undeniably did sense something.
"Li-kun? Tomoyo-chan? Kero-chan? Anyone?"
Sakura could feel her heart beat a bit faster with every name answered in silence. There was no one here. She was alone in this strange city, lost in a place that she knew wasn’t home or anywhere near home. And while she may have been rather naïve, she wasn’t naïve enough to convince herself that this was only a dream - magic was a part of the world, and as such, it was not surprising that magic might have brought her here.
But why did she have to be alone?
"Mouu, Sakura-chan, you have to calm down," Sakura muttered to herself while fiddling with the key on her neck, "you've seen scarier things before! "
She continued to survey the area, only stopping upon realizing that she had already walked a complete circle around the fountain. Where was she to go? How would she get out of here - how could she get out of here? Sakura shook her head, wrapping her arms around her body as she stood.
“Why isn’t anyone here? Not even Kero-chan? He was just in my backpack before--The Clow Cards?!”
Quickly, Sakura opened her backpack, reaching down into the case to take out those familiar cards. Almost as fast as she had taken them out, she had clutched them close to chest. She had been awfully silly to have forgotten, hadn’t she? Or maybe awfully scared was the right phrase.
"See, you’re not alone! Every single one of the cards are here and they’ll definitely you company,” she paused, glancing at the top card on the deck, “And no matter what happens…even if you’re scared, I’m sure everything will be alright.”
