Last Two Months
I've been meaning to update for awhile now. Since it's been awhile I'll post bullet style.
- The end of the semester went relatively well. My grades weren't quite as good as I would have liked, but they are good enough that I won't complain. I ended up having a lot of work to do still in my cosmology independent study after my exams were over. Both the professor and I had gotten behind and so I ended up doing almost an entire semester's worth of problems in less than a week. Needless to say I was ready to leave the department by the time I was done.
- I went to Asheville for a few days over Christmas. Fred came with me until Christmas Eve. Every year I hope that things will be peaceful there won't be any family tension. But that never happens when my sister is in town. So there was stress from family and stress from our guests on Christmas, but I don't really want to go into that whole situation.
- The weekend after Christmas I went up to Pittsburgh with Fred and his family. I had met some of his extended family a few weeks before, but there were quite a few I hadn't met. I had a really good time there, especially when we went to the science center. Probably because I'm a nerd. Even though I had a good time, I was sort of ready to come home again after over a week of constant family.
- My winter term class is a joke. Last year all I did was work. I spent probably at least 3 or 4 hours working outside of class a day. So far after a week and a half I might have put 3 or 4 hours of work in total. We have an average of about 30 pages of reading a night. Then in class the professor summarizes what we read, and then we watch a movie. It is just a pointless class. At least it will be an easy A.
- In all my free time I've been cleaning my house a lot. It doesn't get done a lot during the semester since two of us are always so busy and the other doesn't ever clean. I've been moving all the furniture to vacuum, and since I am the only one there during January, I've moved all the big furniture myself. I ended up throwing out my back somewhere along the way, probably when I moved our entertainment center. I've been putting off calling the Chiropractor hoping it would work itself out, but it has only gotten worse. I'm having a really hard time now, and Monday is a holiday. So I guess I'm just going to have to suck it up for awhile.
- Fred decided he was going to take down the wallpaper and paint his bathroom recently. We made a deal that he would clean out my car if I took down the wallpaper. Then we both started painting together. I've painted for a long time with no problem. As it turns out though, I'm either allergic to the type of paint he got or I've developed an allergy to paint late in life. I ended up not being able to help him at all. My eyes started burning and my nose started running. I'm hoping it is just the brand, because I really like to paint.
That's about all that has been going on the past couple months. I'm not looking forward to this semester starting. If you need me at all, you'll be able to find me pretty much 24/7 in the physics department crying.
