Right, there's this awesome Monty Python sketch called Spot the Loony. It's a call-in game show where they show a number of normal people, or a normal situation, and you, the home viewer, have to Spot the Loony!
And the final round of the sketch, Eric Idle introduces you to a clip from Ivanhoe, where you're going to have to Spot the Loony! Except instead of being anything even remotely related to Ivanhoe, you see the big room filled with crazy people. There's someone on a swing wearing a clown uniform honking his or her horn - someone dressed as a bee - someone dancing with a big thing of meat - etc. And the phone starts ringing off the hook, while you're going .... BWUH?
And Eric Idle hangs up the phone and cheerfully announces that all three callers correctly spotted the loony - the writer.
And you go, Ohhhhhhhh, I get it now.
It's not a situation that's terribly applicable to everyday life, and yet? It's oddly reminiscent of my week.
At least I'm partway done with my (latest) mood theme. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, it's over halfway done, I still can't believe it.
I don't know, I've been angry and frustrated and out-of-sorts, and somehow it's oddly soothing to dick around in Photoshop. I feel like smashing things, and yet? Much more fun to beat this into submission. Maybe on some basic level I'd rather create than destroy. Even if the creation is pretty shitty. I mean, have you seen some of my icons? Oh well, better than nothing. Now, if only I knew how to do photomanips.
I can't believe WinMX is down. Is it gone for good, does anyone know? The servers are just - GONE. I want my mp3s, fuckdammit! I need to find a subscription service. Honestly, I've heard all of the arguments about how mp3s are illegal and wrong and immoral and blah blah blah but somehow it never bothered me. I don't feel like I've done anything wrong, and I say that with at least five pirated gigs of music. But WinMX has gone the way of Napster, and I am severely jonesing, so - does anyone know a decent service? One with a lot of tunes that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I don't mind paying the monthly fee, oddly enough. I just miss the instant gratification. Point-download-mine!
Of course, Photoshop is pirated, so I guess I owe a whole lot of people a whole lot of money that they're never going to see. C'est la vie. Does that make me a hypocrite? I wouldn't think so, but then, from what I've seen, hypocrites rarely do.
I can't believe it's October already.
musicwhore,
