The end of the road trip
All the videos can be seen at http://youtube.com/profile?user=thetraciester and this is perhaps our best one. We got pretty obviously better as we progressed - this one is actually entertaining. It is complete with dinosaurs, tornadoes and national monuments.
Things to do on road trips across the USA:
-go to health food stores as often as possible so as to avoid feeling like utter crap. being in a car for nine hours a day is grueling enough without punishing your body additionally with burgers and fries
-try new burger chains. not every one, because there are a lot of them, but it wouldn't be a road trip without at least a couple of burgers.
-listen to local radio, especially country and NPR. you may grow tired of hearing Mechelle Norris and Robert Seagal introducing themselves on "All Things Considered," and hearing yet another Carrie Underwood track may begin to drive you crazy, but there are some gems out there, especially songs involving sweet tea and turnip greens.
-spend more times in towns than just checking in and out of hotels, because otherwise what is the point of even going there?
