"London," a voice said. It was Jack, sitting on the porch (again), looking at the newcomer curiously. "That was quite an entrance there."

Jack took a moment to look around "Wouldn't happen to be the 27th century then, would it? I know they went through a cloning phase then" He turned to face him and smiled, winking. "First impressions are always the most important"

"Ah, I believe it is the 21st century," Jack replied. "You're a time traveler, then?"

"Only a couple of thousand years off, then" Jack mused, somewhat annoyed by the apparent miscalculation "You could say that"

"I thought you might be, given the way you popped into existence." Jack took a drag off the cigarette he was holding and blew the smoke out thoughtfully. "It seems like your device is just as bad at taking directions as the Doctor's TARDIS. Perhaps you could..." He had to pause to think of the correct word. "...reprogram it and try again?"

Jack shrugged, going back to fiddling with the device. "It would help if I knew what was wrong with it to begin with"
