Fitz had been disturbed from his customary lurking by all this ridiculous cleaning business, and has resorted to joining the Doctor- by joining, he means walking up behind, smoking, and asking "What th' hell, Doc?"

The Doctor twisted to look behind him, smiled. "Oh, hello Fitz. Doing a bit of spring cleaning."

"I don't suppose you've cleaned your room lately, have you?"

"Spring cleaning?"

He looks almost offended. "Hell no." Fitz does not clean.

The Doctor didn't clean either, usually. But, well, it might help!

He thought about it before cautiously asking, "Isn't it getting a little cluttered?"

"It's lived-in." He's only slightly defensive.

The Doctor did have to accept that. "Dirty laundry, then? Maybe you could hang a picture or- no, that might not be received well." He frowned, thinking about it.

"I do my laundry." Sometimes.

"Maybe if you sang to her, then?" Maybe the TARDIS missed Fitz's cheerful songs.

"...Ypu want me to sing to the TARDIS?" Honestly, he thought she'd be tired of his relentless ballads.

"Well, it cheers me up. It might help, Fitz, you don't know for sure."

Fitz scratches his head. "Well...I guess it wouldn't hurt." Fitz is so easy.

The Doctor smiled immediately, "Thank you, that's very generous of you."

Gah. He kicks th ground, embarrassed. "No problem, Doc."

The Doctor just smiled wider and got up to get Fitz a chair too.

Why yes, he did mean here and now.

Oh dear. Fitz had better go and get his guitar. He heads back to his room, eventually returning with his guitar.

While he was gone, a slight incident with the quantum something created an unexpected cloud of dubious odor. Apparently that sandwich had contained more than just cheese. Smelled like bad onions.

With a sigh, the Doctor moved the chairs outside. Much cleaner this way anyway.
