A packed half month. Building a practice room for our band, tired of paying for practice space. We'll see how well that works out... Our bassist is lame, not enough balls to talk to us, so he just doesn't show up or call. Musicians... Saw Tool last month(May 21st?), a friend had an extra ticket. While the new album was interesting, it didn't 'do it' for me. Some of the strongest riffs Tool has ever written connected by some of the weakest links and a little too personal lyrics which focus the meaning a little too much, makes it not as broad and identifiable. That being said, this was the best Tool show I've been to, the imagery was much better than Lateralus, which ended up too artsy with the human contortionists. This was great, I felt like I was along for a ride the entire time, and with this imagery, some of the lyrics can out like never before, some I had forgotten or overlooked. I left the show feeling refreshed, full of energy. I was surprised on how much I enjoyed this show.

Well, I'm definitely a Lost fan. Good ending, finally back to where it seems it should have been half way through this season.

I'm starting to get ready to get back into the dating scene. The itch has been noticed.

I finished off several of the books I was reading.
-Collapse - Jared Diamond
-Critical Mass - Phillip Ball
The Political Collapse of Europe - Hajo Holborn

I'm currently reading farther on my Modern German History book, reading up to WWII. I realized after reading The Political Collapse of Europe that I could read a bit more before stopping for the battle parts of German history during WWII. Very interesting Germany's transition from quasi-constitutional Monarchy to democratic republic. So many factors played a part in Germany radicalizing in the post WWI era. No idea what I'll read next, I have so much to choose from!

Finally, I'm doing it. I'm getting out of the country. I'm leaving July 18 to NYC for a few days, and then to Stockholm. I'll stay there a day or two before ferrying over to Helsinki for a few, then to Tallinn. 2 days in Tallinn, bus to Riga and spend a day or two there. I'll bus to Berlin from Riga, fly to Dublin and stay a day or two, then fly back to NY(to N.C. to visit family for a day or two). I've got my flight to Stockholm and ferries to Helsinki and Tallinn. I'll get my bus tickets later this month, as well as my last flights(BER->DUB-JFK). I'm working on lodging as I type. This is a real vacation! My camera will be in constant use. I'm really excited to visit Scandinavia, and the Baltic regions seem so nice and peaceful(now!)... And Dublin, well it was either Dublin or Reykjavik, Iceland; and I couldn't get tickets to Iceland that were cheap enough. Next time! Dublin should be very interesting!

This year is almost half way over, but for once, I feel that is hasn't rushed by. I feel like I'm actually doing things, and not wasting chunks of time. 6 months doesn't go by without me crossing off something big from my personal list now. I don't think I'll be able to finish all of my goals I set for myself this year, but setting them has allowed me to get closer than ever before. I can see a light at the end of my tunnel.
