Crypticon 2010

Louis is back in town! And, we got to go to the last day of Crypticon 2010 today!

The new location (the Holiday Inn in Everett) was better than last year's, I must say. If nothing else, it was easier to find. And having the dealers room in the garage beneath the hotel - brilliant! The dingy grey cement and lousy garage lighting really lent to the look and feel of the whole “horror” atmosphere.

With both kiddos along, we didn’t get to do much (read: any!) panel things. We walked the artist area, and saw the vendor and artist rooms. NightZero was there, and we heard about the July 3rd Zombie Walk occurring in Seattle this summer. Daughter got her picture taken in a real coffin for charity, and had her face painted. (Yes, that’s fake blood on her mouth. She went attired as a vampire. This pic was sans Dracula teeth.)

I walked away with some cool new artwork by Benjamin Glendenning (of Zombies vs. Cheerleaders -- coming this month to a comic store near you…ahem ..DRAGON’s LAIR!). I also got a nice print of the cover art from this years event program, signed by artist Levi Skeen. Oh! And a glass bead spider pendant…. and a bracelet with blue dice and skull beads… …

(OK. Maybe I spent a little more money than I planned.)
