Ephraim had been sitting in class with his hand over his face, not at all listening to his professor lecture. Really, was this all they had to offer here? Everything that he said was everything that he had read the night before. So far, half an hour into the class, he still hadn't done anything but read directly from the book. As studious as he was, he understood when something was a waste of his time.

He crept away from his seat and discretely left the lecture hall. Whew. Now that he had some free time, perhaps it was time to go do some exploring. Maybe he would see Innes or Tana. Or maybe some other local denizens of the Bay area.

Tana had wandered on to the college campus and had her class schedule out, making sure she knew where her classes would be taking place next semester. The campus was relatively large, but it wasn't too difficult to navigate.

A wide smile spread across her face when she saw a familiar figure walk out the doors of the building she had just walked past. She walked over to him, almost skipping. "Ephraim!" She waved her hand, which was still clutching her schedule.

Ephraim had not expected company to come so early! A few steps out the door and already he met an incredibly welcome face.

"Tana! What a nice coincidence," he smiled. His hands were full of books, so sadly he couldn't return her cheery wave. "How have you been?"

"I've been well. Though, I had to sneak past Innes to get out this morning. I'm a little surprised that he hasn't tried to track me down yet. How about you? Are you enjoying you're classes?"

Tana really enjoyed Ephraim's company. Hopefully, he wouldn't be too busy today so they could catch up a bit.

"Classes have been interesting for the most part. Except for this one. I'm not too fond of the professor," he confessed.

But that part about Innes? Ephraim just had to chuckle at that. "Really, Tana? I don't think he'd be too happy if he finds you with me."

"I'm sorry to hear that." Her smile dampened a little. She'd have to ask around and make sure that at least one of her professors were tolerable.

A mischievous smile replaced the dampened look at Ephraim's comment. "You're probably right, but what kind of sister would I be if I didn't drive him up the wall every now and then." With Tana, it was more like 'all the time,' as Innes had definitely disapproved of her joining the cheer leading team. She was sure that spending time with his 'rival' would just make him more upset with her.

"And I thought I was the only one frustrating your brother," he laughed. Ephraim and Innes had been competing over the course of their childhood friendship. And of course, Ephraim was the one who complicated Innes's assertion that he indeed was the best. "I'm glad though that my dearest Eirika is a bit more well-behaved."

Tana gave Ephraim a pseudo-pout. "Thanks a lot." She was a bit jealous over Ephraim and Eirika's relationship. Why couldn't she have that kind of bond with Innes?

"How is Eirika? I haven't run into her yet." She was anxious to bump into her best friend. It had been a while since they've seen each other.

"Eirika is doing fine. She's been busy as of late, though so I haven't seen much of her lately." He really did need to reconnect with his dear sister sometime soon. Sadly, their university did not have co-ed dorming, so they ended up boarding in two seperate rooms.

"...and don't be like that. I think you're fine just the way you are, Tana."

"I'm glad someone thinks so." She couldn't help but blush a little. Ephraim was always so sweet to her.

"I had heard that Eirika was busy. I guess I didn't realize how much work she really had to do." She hoped that her friend would find some time for fun. That's what college was about right? "Maybe I can find time to study with her. I'd hate to be in the same place as her and not see her at all."

"It's fairly involved, though that's to be expected from law classes. You should go ahead and ask though. I don't think she would object to spending time with friends," he said while leading her away from the lecture building.

"Have you eaten yet?"

She can go on two lunches.... winged_sister November 20 2009, 01:51:47 UTC
"No, I haven't." Lunch with Ephraim sounded much better than lunch with Innes at the moment. "Where would you like to go? I don't know what's around, so I'll go where ever you want to."

Tana had seen a bunch of places while walking to the university. She also wouldn't mind eating with Ephraim in his dorm or apartment, whichever he stayed in. It was really the company that mattered, not the place.

"I was hoping you would know," Ephraim said with a wry smile. "Time for some reconnaisance." He stepped forward, choosing a random direction to begin their little adventure across campus. He turned, motioning for Tana to follow him.

Things are getting better, thank you. winged_sister November 25 2009, 03:51:15 UTC
Tana shrugged. "I'm still not familiar with the area." She had almost suggested that they go back to her apartment, but she had a strong feeling that Innes would still be there. She'd be scolded for rushing out, and then he and Ephraim would probably end up doing something stupid, so she kept her mouth shut.

She couldn't help but smile at his statement. 'Reconnaissance,' huh? She knew he enjoyed military style games and such. She thought it was funny how he would use such terms in everyday language. "I suppose you wouldn't have any spies around here, do you," she responded with a teasing grin.

Ephraim played along with Tana's teasing, playing the part of a confident strategist. "Ah, not yet. I've yet to establish a presence in this area. I've yet to make myself minions," he laughed. As they walked, they chanced upon a nice deli shop across the street from the school.

"What do you think?" he asked, momentarily stopping in front of the eatery.

Tana laughed along with Ephraim. "Well, at least you don't have to worry about getting some too soon. So far, Innes hasn't shown any signs of recruiting his own."

Tana almost bumped into Ephraim when he stopped. She blushed a little, and backed up to see where they had stopped. The deli did look pretty nice. It was small, but it looked like an enjoyable place for lunch. "I think we should try it out."
