"The world only spins forward."

So this is kind of for everyone, but mostly for Tania...

I was thinking this morning when I first woke up about our road trip. Mostly I was thinking about when we were in Little Rock early in the morning and went to Central High and the kids were getting off the buses and it looked like the most normal thing in the world, and how good it was that it seemed like the most normal thing in the world, those kids getting off that bus and walking into that school that we'd only seen in photos from 50 years ago flanked with National Guard troops. And I was thinking about how if all this means this much to us, how much it must mean to our parents, after all they saw and all they had to live through. And I was thinking that I wish we were together today, because there's no one I wish I could share this with more than you. Because it's all happening. We've seen the past, and we'll see the future. We're voting for Barack Obama. How could we have imagined this, standing on the curb by school six years ago with our anti-war signs? I'm glad you and I get to see this.
