So at lunch I walked to the library, then book under arm strolled to the Elephant's Delicatessen, and while browsing around, one of the staff there was staring and squeed "oh my god it beautiful, which his co-worker was bemused by. He was talking about the book under my arm, which weighs in at 7.5lbs and is about 16x10x2.5" with a tooled black leather cover. He came over and did the fanboy thing, not for me of course, but for the book, and I had to agree with him. Gaiman's Absolute Sandman is a work of art, inside and out. This was volume 3 (yes the other two were just as weighty), and I'd had it in my hold-queue at the library since before it came out.
I had to plan the library pickup on a day when I wasn't biking to the carpool, since the darn thing wouldn't fit in my backpack!
